Wildly Biased Show: Week #11

Well hello again, hockey fans! Welcome Week #11 of the Wildly Biased Show!

Folks, since we last spoke the Wild went 2-0-1.  They gained 5-out-of-6 possible points by taking points from Central Division foes and Eastern Conference flotsam alike.

In this week's show the ever-dapper Phil & I will break down the inevitability of the loss to the Stars, the team victory in Chicago, and that win over the Leafs in St. Paul that doubles as the least interesting hockey game since Jacques Lemaire hung up his clipboard.

We'll also discuss Ryan Suter's comments to the media, Mike Yeo's response, the importance of lefty/righty combos on the blue line, the resurrection of Jason Pominville, old episodes of Becoming Wild, Darcy Kuemper's reappearance, how small moments frequently become the turning points in games, the difficulty of depth perception from the top of the Xcel Energy Center, the first successful coaching challenge in franchise history, Ryan Johansen's trade value, Mike Reilly's call-up, John Scott's All-Star candidacy, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins trade value, and we take our monthly trip around the Central Division Of Death!

All that plus a lot of non-sequiturs and dead air! Good stuff all around.

We'll be back next week to discuss the Wild & Avs home & home series plus whatever else comes up in the meantime.

As always, feel free to drop us a line here on the blog or via e-mail (WildlyBiased@gmail.com). You can also hit us up on Twitter (Phil at @Phileeeeeeep and me at @WildlyBiased). We'd love to discuss the Wild, the NHL, or, really, whatever you feel like talking about.

Wildly Biased Show: Week #8-9-10

Well hello again, podcast fans! Welcome to a monster episode of the Wildly Biased Show!

Folks, it's been a few weeks since we did a show and we're making up for lost time by breaking down three weeks worth of Minnesota Wild hockey.

The boys have gone 4-3-3 since we last spoke and frankly, things are trending in the wrong direction. We break down the Wild's suddenly impotent defensive corps, the struggles of Devan Dubnyk, the advanced statistic of "Save Percentage," treading water in the Central Division, how well the Wild coped with the absence of Zach Parise, Matt Belesky's slashing of Jason Zucker, Travis Hamonic's struggles with geography, the disappearance of Nino Niederreiter, the throwback-to-the-90's style of the Winnipeg Jets, Nate Prosser's attempt to avenge Zach Parise's injury, the Jason Pominville Goal Watch, the new All-Star Game format, and the Wild's Stadium Series sweaters!

We also touch on Phil's trip to Seattle, his undying love of seasfood, the San Diego Chargers imminent move to Los Angeles, the difficulty of driving across the Canadian prairie, everything that's wrong with the city of Pittsburgh, the un-killable legacy of the North Stars, the history of the Wild's sweaters, the prevalence of Marquette basketball fans in Minneapolis, and the real MVP of Thanksgiving!

Also: Phil kills a bug live on the air. Solid episode all around.

Be sure to check back for next week's episode as we recap the Wild's games against the Stars, Blackhawks, & Leafs. We'll also discuss anything else that comes up during the week.

Wildly Biased Show: Week #2

Well hello again, podcast fans!  Welcome to Week #2 of the Wildly Biased Show!

It's the last show of the preseason, everybody, and Phil & I are back to discuss all kinds of things. We get deep discussing the Wild's thrashing of the Sabres, their thrashing of the Jets, the standing of Tyler Graovac, Brett Bulmer, & Zac Dalpe, the potential impact of Chris Porter, the team-building jaunt to Duluth, and some of the Wild's X-Factors this season.

We also take a trip around the league and discuss the ramifications of Jordan Eberle's injury, the Brent Seabrook extension, and the intrigue surrounding the naming of the Sharks' new captain. We also talk about the University Of North Dakota's nickname dilemma, Saskatoon, Paul Maurice, Erik Haula, Charlie Coyle, 3-on-3 OT, and the magic of the 200 level.

The show's always free. Just click the Mixcloud player below.

Of course, be warned, the Wildly Biased Show contains some (OK, lots) of adult language.

We'll be back next week to discuss the opening of the regular season out in Denver among all the rest of the week's news.

We try to keep it open around here.
