Wildly Biased Show: Week #12-13

That's a lot of cheeseburgers...

Well hello again, hockey fans! Welcome to a special double-stack episode of the Wildly Biased Show!

Folks, since we last spoke the Minnesota Wild played six games and took points out of them all. A 4-0-2 record in those games has left the Wild a mere two points behind St. Louis for second place the Central Division with games in hand on everybody else.

Phil & I are back to discuss the Minnesota Wild's success over these past couple of weeks.  We discuss all kinds of stuff.

-The surprising success of Darcy Kuemper & his long term prospects with the Wild
-The Jekyll & Hyde performance of the Colorado Avalanche
-The non-existent Niklas Backstrom trade market
-The arrival of Jarret Stoll
-The possibility that Erik Haula has hit his ceiling
-Thomas Vanek's continued excellence
-Marco Scandella's attempt to end Antti Raanta's career
-Mikko Koivu's Selke Trophy potential
-Whether or not we still hate the Vancouver Canucks
-Just how peculiar the careers of the Sedin Twins have been
-The Wild's inability to develop goalies
-Jason Pominville's hot streak
-The official retirement of Keith Ballard

After all of that, we take a trip around the league to have a look at the flotsam of the NHL.

-The end of Patrick Kane's point streak
-The fallout of the Board Of Governor's meeting regarding expansion & executive compensation
-The curious legacy of Pascal Dupuis
-The looming rebranding of the Toronto Maple Leafs & Florida Panthers
-John Tortorella's benching of Ryan Johansen out in Columbus
-The insane contract demands of Andrew Ladd, Dustin Byfuglien, & Jacob Trouba
-STAMMERGEDDON!

All that plus all the non-sequiturs, dead air, & obscenities you could ever want! As you can see, it's a fun week.

We'll be back next week to discuss the Wild's trip down to Nashville and the back-to-back St. Paul appearances of the Dallas Stars and Montreal Canadiens. Going to be a good test.

As always, feel free to drop us a line here on the blog or via e-mail (WildlyBiased@gmail.com). You can also hit us up on Twitter (Phil at @Phileeeeeeep and me at @WildlyBiased). We'd love to discuss the Wild, the NHL, or, really, whatever you feel like talking about.

Wildly Biased Show: Week #11

Well hello again, hockey fans! Welcome Week #11 of the Wildly Biased Show!

Folks, since we last spoke the Wild went 2-0-1.  They gained 5-out-of-6 possible points by taking points from Central Division foes and Eastern Conference flotsam alike.

In this week's show the ever-dapper Phil & I will break down the inevitability of the loss to the Stars, the team victory in Chicago, and that win over the Leafs in St. Paul that doubles as the least interesting hockey game since Jacques Lemaire hung up his clipboard.

We'll also discuss Ryan Suter's comments to the media, Mike Yeo's response, the importance of lefty/righty combos on the blue line, the resurrection of Jason Pominville, old episodes of Becoming Wild, Darcy Kuemper's reappearance, how small moments frequently become the turning points in games, the difficulty of depth perception from the top of the Xcel Energy Center, the first successful coaching challenge in franchise history, Ryan Johansen's trade value, Mike Reilly's call-up, John Scott's All-Star candidacy, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins trade value, and we take our monthly trip around the Central Division Of Death!

All that plus a lot of non-sequiturs and dead air! Good stuff all around.

We'll be back next week to discuss the Wild & Avs home & home series plus whatever else comes up in the meantime.
